Inter-Wiki Reference is an OborWiki feature that allows:

How it works
Linking
Inter-wiki linking works the same way it does normally, except that you must preface the link with the prefix of the target wiki (see table at right).
Example:
[[Obormot:Archive/The Art of Controversy]] will link to the The Art of Controversy page on this wiki.
(All the usual link formats are usable.)
Transclusion
Inter-wiki transclusion works the same way it does normally, except that you must preface the name of the target page with the prefix of the target wiki (see table at right), and also enclose it in single quotes.
(:include 'Obormot:Archive/TheArtOfControversy':) will transclude the The Art of Controversy page on this wiki into the page on your wiki where it appears.
Page lists
Page lists must include the list=farm parameter to include pages from participating wikis in addition to pages on your own wiki.
Example:
(:pagelist list=farm group=Archive:) will create a page list of all pages in a group called Archive (whether they be on your wiki or on any participating wiki other than your wiki).
Search
Search strings must include the list=farm parameter to search participating wikis in addition to your own wiki. (You can enter the parameter directly into the search box; e.g. you might enter list=farm apple to search for apple on your wiki and all participating wikis).
What does “participating” mean?
Inter-Wiki Reference is available for use on all wikis. However, having your wiki be part of the set of targets of Inter-Wiki Reference is strictly opt-in. If you do not opt in, then other wikis will not be able to link to your wiki using inter-wiki links (though of course they will still be able to link to pages on your wiki with ordinary links), nor transclude content from your wiki, nor construct pagelists which include pages on your wiki, nor do searches that include your wiki.
Participating wikis are listed in the table Wiki Prefix Directory, at the top of this page. Contact me (Obormot) if you want your wiki to be added to the list of participating wikis (thus allowing it to be reference by other wikis on OborWiki via Inter-Wiki Reference).
Security
Inter-Wiki Reference follows PmWiki's authentication/permissions settings.
Note that Inter-Wiki Reference is read-only; in no event can it be used to modify your wiki.
Known issues
Pagelists on pages transcluded from other wikis
… are not imported properly yet.
Incompatibility with BlogIt
Wikis that run the BlogIt blogging engine are currently unable to use Inter-Wiki Reference.
Creating pages with colons in the name
Currently, a link to a nonexistent page on your wiki, with a colon (:) in the name, does not work correctly. (Links to existing pages with colons work fine.)
Transclusion via pagelists doesn't work across wikis
i.e. (:pagelist fmt=#include … :)
Redirect backlinks don't work across wikis
If you redirect from one wiki to another using the (:redirect:) directive, the “redirected from” link will point at your own wiki, not the originating wiki.
