Noodle kugel

A sweet casserole made with noodles.

  1. In small bowl, lightly beat 1 egg; combine with 112 c raisins; cover with plastic wrap, set aside.

1 hour passes

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Line 9″ baking pan (at least 2″ deep) with aluminum foil, and grease well.
  3. In salted water (with 12 tsp salt), boil 16 oz. egg noodles.
  4. Melt 1 stick butter.
  5. Drain noodles and transfer to large mixing bowl. Add melted butter.
  6. Add 23 c sugar and 12 tsp nutmeg.
  7. Add 5 eggs.
  8. Fold in raisins (from step 1).
  9. Transfer noodle mix to baking pan; cover with aluminum foil. Put in oven.

1 hour passes

  1. Remove kugel from oven and invert onto serving plate; remove foil.
  2. Let cool at least 10 minutes before eating.
